2024-2025 ORCA Swim Season - Summer Update from the President
Welcome to the 2024-2025 Orca Swim Club Season. We have been working hard this summer making plans for next season. Registration will be ready to go later this week. Please be looking for another email announcing when registration will be open. We encourage families to spread the word and share with their friends and families how great Orca is!
We have a tentative date for tryouts for new swimmers of every level Sept 10 & 12th. Please email orcaswimcoach@gmail.com with “Orca Tryouts” in the subject line and you’ll be added to an email list with the most up to date information. These dates depend on the pool roof renovations. We will keep you as up to date as possible on the roof progress.
Swim Canada is in the process of updating the system clubs use to register swimmers. We will do our best to guide you through the registration process but it is a learning curve for everyone.
As many of you know, Coach Aysha has accepted the position of Head Lifeguard at the District of Summerland. We are sad to lose her as a coach but happy that we still get to see her on the pool deck! We are excited to announce that we have found an amazing replacement to coach our development kids. Her name is Olivia Charles and she comes to us from the Duncan Stingrays. Olivia grew up swimming in Calgary, then swam for the University of Lethbridge. She is excited to join our small club and is passionate about coaching young swimmers! Welcome Olivia!
We are also excited to announce that Janae Hoel has accepted the position of Head Coach for the 2024/25 season. She will be coaching the Regional and Age Group swimmers. We have been working closely with Janae to launch an exciting and successful 2024/25 swim season. Welcome back Janae!
The tentative date for this years AGM is Sept 20th. Please mark it in your calendars as it is mandatory for at least one parent from each swim family to attend. We will also have a fun season launch party at the same time for the swimmers.
