October KISU Jamboree (2024/2025)

August 3, 2025

Update from Coach Olivia on the first Jamboree of the Season!!

Our development groups swimmers had a blast at the Jamboree in Penticton on Sunday, October 20th. For a few, it was their first time ever racing! Swim meets like the Jamboree are the best way for our swimmers to learn how a competition runs and how we need to think differently about swimming than we do in practice. These racing opportunities are also a great way for our swimmers to learn how to deal with nerves and excited energy and how to channel those nerves into fast swimming. Racing opportunities such as these expose our young athletes to the world of competitive swimming. Coming off of an Olympic year, many of them watched the Swimming events and now they get to experience what it’s like to be in that kind of environment.

A special shoutout to two of our Development 4 level athletes, Heidi and Alexis, who both got their 200m Individual medley times, being under the 4-minute mark. This means that they are ready to move up to our Regional 1 level and start training more frequently and attend higher level swim meets. Congratulations Heidi and Alexis!

Thank-you to our Junior Coaches Toby and Sarah-Jane for your support at the meet as well.

We’re off to such a great start to our 2024/2025 season!! So excited to see where we go from here!
