It’s time to get excited about our annual Swim-a-Thon!!
The Swim-a-Thon is our biggest and most important fundraising event of the year. It is an expectation that all swimmers participate in this event. The funds raised at this event directly helps YOUR swimmer by keeping the swim fees affordable. It helps pay for things like pool time, coaching, equipment, swim meet fees, travel etc….. If your swimmer is not able to attend on April 26th (Event Schedule Here), there will be make up times available so please still follow the steps below to set up a fundraising page and participate towards achieving our fundraising goal.
This year (again) we have a HUGE fundraising goal of $20,000!!! We set this goal last year and came up shy but this year we have more swimmers so I know we can do it. If every swimmer sets their fundraising goal at $200, we will fly past our goal! We have been working hard on this year’s fundraising incentive prizes $50-$149 is a swim cap $150-$299 is goggles, $300-$499 tank top $500-$749 is a crew neck or draw string bag $749 plus is a swim back pack) and I hope that once the swimmers see what they can earn they will set their goal higher than $200!! There will be a second email coming out about raffle baskets that will be in the lobby during this event. Tickets will be for sale and there will be some great prizes. See raffle basket email for more information.
We are using the same fundraising platform as last year:
Please take a minute and set up your swimmers fundraising page. If you have multiple swimmers, you can make one page for your family so it’s easier to share. We will still track the prizes individually.
ALL FAMILIES: You will be creating a ‘personal fundraising page’. Name it after your swimmer/family and set your goal. There will be a drop-down menu where you select Summerland Orca Swim Club (SOSC). It will then be ready to be shared on all your Socials and email to your friends and family!
RETURNING FAMILIES: *If you are a returning swimmer, remember to ‘unpublish’ last year’s fundraising page first.*To do so:
- Click on the swimming.ca Swim-a-Thon link below. Sign into your account by clicking on the red “sign up for free” link in the middle of the page. In the top right corner, you will sign into your old account. There you should see your 2025 funds raised.
- Make sure you click on the three dots on the right of the 2025 fundraiser and select “unpublished”.
- Then you need to create a new 2026 page and select ‘Summerland Orca Swim Club’ (SOSC).
- You will then have a personal link to send out for donations!
NEW FAMILIES: *If you are new to the club you will need to create an account and login.*
- Click on the swimming.ca Swim-a-Thon link below.
- Once you create an account you will then create a 2026 page and select ‘Summerland Orca Swim Club’ (SOSC).
- You will then have a personal link to send out for donations!

Please also FOLLOW THIS LINK to the Orca Events Page to check out the day’s timing and to declare or decline the Swim-a-Thon’s April 26 event. This will help us get in touch with the people who need to book a make-up session. We plan to host two make-up days, but obviously encourage everyone to attend the main event if at all able so their swimmers can gain the full experience.
This is a lot of information for now! We will have the fundraising incentive prizes ready to be revealed soon so be on the lookout for that email!
Until then, get your swimmer signed up and start sharing that fundraising page!!
Thanks everyone!
