Vernon Jamboree Recap - November 9th, 2025

November 13, 2025

What an exciting afternoon of racing we had in Vernon this past Sunday! Thirteen ORCA swimmers dove in with confidence, and for three of them (Owen S., Bennett O., and Brayden S.) it was their first-ever Jamboree – an awesome milestone in their swimming journey!

A huge highlight of the day: we have a brand-new Regional Group qualifier! Evan J. punched his ticket by powering through the 200 IM in an impressive 3:58.81. Way to go, Evan!

Jamborees are also about chasing improvement, and our swimmers delivered big time. Some of the biggest ones included:

  • Vivian K. and Peyton B., who each threw down a fantastic race in their 50 Freestyles, dropping almost 5 full seconds – an outstanding best time!
  • Ozric H. crushed several of his previous marks as well, taking a massive 14 seconds off his 200 IM from the last Jamboree. Incredible effort, Ozric!
  • All 3 of our ORCA relay teams had several swimmers clock faster times than they ever have in their individual races, proving both what they are capable of accomplishing next time and how hard they are willing to work for each other.

Super proud of all that was accomplished in Vernon, and excited for the next one in West Kelowna!!

A huge thank-you to Junior Coaches Sarah-Jane and Elizabeth for making sure there wasn’t a single missed race and that everyone had their goggles and caps for every race!!

Go ORCA!
