Swim BC 2026 Winter Provincial Championships Recap - March 5-8
What a whirlwind the last 2 months have been!! As a team, ORCA has been involved in 4 Reg+ meets and 3 Jamborees since mid-January. This all culminated this last week in a full week of racing. First, we had Emily B, who competed in her 1st ever Provincial Championships (WOOHOO!) in Victoria over the weekend. Then Monday the rest of the team was well represented at our ORCA In-House Winter Jamboree (recap AVAILABLE HERE). Such an amazing thing to have everyone from our newest Junior Pods to our Provincial level swimmers racing on the same weekend!
In Victoria, Emily got her first experience of Provincial level racing (only weeks after qualifying) and held her own! She concluded the weekend placed 23rd, 22nd, and 25th in the Province in her 50 Butterfly, 100 Breaststroke, and 50 Breaststroke, respectively. Thank-you, Emily, for representing ORCA & Summerland with strength, smiles, and excitement all weekend long!! You have put so much hard work into this and we're excited to say that this is just the beginning!!
