This past weekend, Summerland Orca swimmers aged 7-12 took to the pool on Saturday, December 7th in West Kelowna with impressive confidence and poise. Many of these athletes were participating in their very first events, marking a significant milestone in their swimming journeys.
The Development 2 and 3 groups stood out with remarkable performances, especially as many swimmers competed in the challenging 100 Individual Medley, or IM, for the first time. Our top performers time wise were, Astrid, Jason, Yaniv, Emmerick, Elliot and Coraline. Their ability to navigate all four strokes with skill and composure was a testament to their hard work and dedication.
For many, this meet was not just about results, but about embracing the experience and enjoying some extra time with their teammates. We would like to give honourable mentions to Caelan, Helen, Maya, Remy, and Hadley, for rising up to the challenge and for applying themselves with diligence.
One special shoutout to our two Jr. Coaches, Nicholas and Sarah for helping the swimmers get to their races and showing our new swimmers how to navigate a swim meet!
